DAVOS

Davos

Davos is a renowned village in Eastern Switzerland. Given the altitude and its geographical location in the Alps, the air quality in Davos is excellent, making the village during the last century the home to several famous clinics. Today, Davos is a beloved ski resort in winter and home to numerous other mountain activities in summer. Nightlife is also very active, with several pubs and bars where you can spend long convivial nights. Davos is also home to prominent conferences and events such as the annual AO Davos Courses, delivering best in class training for orthopedic surgeons, and the World Economic Forum, where the future of our planet is shaped. Therefore, Davos delivers an interesting mixture of urban flavor surrounded by glorious nature.

Climate

The weather in early September is generally stable, with expected daily temperatures of 10-14°C, although on a sunny day the perceived temperature is much higher. However, with its location at 1560m above sea level temperature variations are wide and sudden: as soon as the sun sets the temperature drops, and the weather can change very quickly, becoming chilly, rainy and even snowy!

Latest local weather can be found on the Davos website.

Exercise

Davos is a paradise for sport-lovers. If you enjoy spending time in the nature, do not miss the opportunity to bring walking boots to go for mountain walks. Joggers and runners should definitely bring running trainers. The Davos lake has a 4 Km fairly flat path around it. Everywhere else is uphill 🙂 and there are excellent mountain paths for trail runners. Please visit the Davos Tourism website to find walks and runs for all fitness levels.
